A month from today...
A month from today, Ernie and I will be boarding a plane at SFO bound for MIA. For Ernie, this will be different than all the other trips to Miami that he’s made endless times across the last 2 1/2 years we’ve been dating. This trip doesn’t have a return date. He’ll be moving here, moving with me to a new apartment in this crazy city, this town that is the...

My friends and there cross country adventures
Two very dear friends have recently set off on exciting new adventures in their lives: moving cross country to start anew in cities very different to their hometown.
Royce is currently in the process of driving from San Francisco to Chicago.
Ryan made the trek from Miami to Los Angeles.
Ryan has been having the itch to leave Miami for a few years with his eye set on New York, but a xmas...

Past Required Childhood Piano Lessons = Present...
Ernie's BF: Hey, there's a piano here.
Ernie: I haven't sat down and played the piano in years.
BF: You said you can still read sight music though. Try this.
Ernie: Okay. (Ernie bumbles through sheet music of "Free Fallin'" and "Georgia On My Mind.") That was terrible.
BF: That was great. Now play this.
Ernie: (Ernie bumbles through sheet music of a relatively simple march.)
BF: Well, at least you can get a job in Miami easily. You just played the Cuban national anthem.
Ernie: OF COURSE I did.
BF: Hold on, I'm going to check if there's a line of old people outside.
at one time he was the hottest actor in Hollywood….that was a long time ago.
If their were a movie of our lives...
A follow-up to my commentary on my repost from Ernies tumblr…If we were to make a short of our lives we’d likely play ourselves BUT in a big budget version of our life…or a slightly exagerrated version of it…the boyfriend could be played by BD Wong or Alec Mapa…not because he looks like either one of them but because theyre the only Asian actors in Hollywood who seem...
IF THE PAST 3 MONTHS OF ERNIE'S LIFE WAS SLIGHTLY...
ernie:
MONTAGE, PREFERABLY TO A REMAKE OF A 90s SONG BY AN ANGSTY TEEN BAND:
CUT TO: Ernie sitting at a coffee shop, working on his laptop. CUT TO: Ernie, sitting in his poorly furnished living room, opening a letter. It’s a bank statement, but because this is a movie, the piece of paper simply says “BANK BALANCE,” a line graph that goes down and to the right, and, for the hell of it, a frowny...

Update from the mountains of Georgia...
A week ago I wrote confident that I’d be updating my tumblr daily and that my time in Ellijay would be used to read, write, and generally pursue creative endeavors. Truth be told, it has been anything but…and I’m okay with that.
I’ve spent the last few days seeing neighboring small towns with a long time family friend whose known me since I was a kid and going to...
After talking to Ernie about his nearly 80 year old Playboy father and all the old dames after him; I know that their will be a day 40 years from now when Ernie is showing someone photos of all the old dudes hitting on him at his “Bejeweled for Gay Retirees” club. I hope not to feel threatened by this.
Disconnecting...
In a weeks time I will be taking off to my families rural Georgia vacation home.
I will be making the 12hour drive by myself and staying in the 3 story house all by myself for what will be either a few days or two weeks.
Regularly I would hate the notion of something so solitary but at this point it sounds like a wonderful idea and a much welcomed distraction from the stresses of the last...

Random thoughts...
Last Wednesday my boyfriend was part of a massive 40% layoff from an online social media network company which will remain nameless (No- it’s not the one everyone knows about…it’s the one no one knows about). He was unhappy for sometime but was ready to stick with it in order to pay the bills. As unpleasant as a layoff is, I can only think that this was a mixed blessing. It...
I am not only a huge Stephen Sondheim fan…but a huge Barbara Cook fan. This sounds rather fantastic to me. Hope I can make it up to NYC while it’s still on.
…but it’s like a special olympics marathon where, frankly, i...

Sundance hottie sighting
Aside from some good films the famous-sexy-boy sightings have been pretty good.
Yesterday saw Mario Lopez from across the street. Today was sitting next to James Franco and in the bathroom with Joseph Gordon- Levitt. Chatted with Gus Van Sant in the bus…but he’s neither sexy or a boy.
The Lovely Bones
Just saw The Lovely Bones…and really wish Peter Jackson would stick to hobbits, wizards, rings and other things he knows about.
This mornings text message from my friend...

on Avatar
My new buddy (and my boyfriends neighbor) Laurie recently wrote a great dissection of Avatar as a facebook note. Not knowing him well enough to post a 5+ paragraph response to it, I decided to post my thoughts to his interesting points here.
I have to admit, I didnt hate Avatar like I thought I would, but rather, was entertained by it and thought it was surprisingly good. If a film must be...
Homes
So it seems that real estate is back at the forefront of my mind over the last two weeks.
This week, I made an offer on a condo in South Beach. It’s a cute 563 sq. foot, one bedroom and one bathroom, centrally located and near Flamingo Park which means plenty of parking (which can sometimes be an issue in SoBe) and its in a small 8-unit building. Its pretty close to what my...
